 “La Ciudad de Guatemala” is the main economic, governmental and cultural city of this republic. The capital also has a wide variety of restaurants, shopping malls, hotels and over 300 art museums and galleries. 

The Climate

Green is the new colour of Guatemala City; she invested a lot in planting trees throughout the city and painting the grey municipality properties a brighter tint. Guatemala City is located in the western highlands at an altitude of about 1,500 meters (5,200 feet) and not as hot as it is at either coast, it never reaches tropical levels. It can rain from May to October, although it can stay pretty dry some of those months. Chances of property damage by rain are not high.  It hardly is hot at night making it a good retirement climate.
